Total Defence Day

Victorians commemorated Total Defence Day 2026 by engaging in a dialogue session with two of our alumni - Commissioner of Police, Mr How Kwang Hwee and Deputy Commissioner (Strategy and Corporate Services) of SCDF, Mr Teong How Hwa. During the dialogue, JC2 students reflected on resilience, vigilance and the role each of them plays in safeguarding Singapore’s future. Alongside the rest of the nation, Victorians also took part in Exercise SG Ready, with a focus on power outage preparedness. As part of the programme, students explored how Singapore’s national power grid supports everyday needs, while recognising that outages can still occur despite its reliability. They also learned practical ways to be equipped to handle power outages anytime, anywhere — both as individuals and as a community, with many having lessons in the open. The exercise served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of readiness and resilience, empowering students to stay prepared in the face of unexpected disruptions.
