H1 & H2 Geography aims to help students cultivate an understanding of spatial and temporal dimensions in different cultural contexts; and how the intersections of the physical and human world shape resource management decisions across the world.
The Geography syllabus is underpinned by the overarching idea of Sustainable Development, and provides for authentic learning experiences through Geographical Investigations.
Topics include Population resource theories, geopolitics of transboundary water resources, climate change, the future of cities,global economic issues, different natural landscapes.
Last November, some of our Geography students took home the Outstanding Award in the Challenge for the Built Environment competition by URA, where they designed a sustainable industrial estate based on a real site in Singapore. Other Geography students also had the opportunity to be part of the first ever Singapore Model COP delegation, and had the chance to spar with delegates from other schools, on climate diplomacy issues.
