Singapore Model Cabinet 2026

From 18 to 20 March, VJC’s iGlobe, in collaboration with the Marine Parade Leadership Foundation, hosted the Singapore Model Cabinet (SMC) 2026. This year’s conference saw an impressive turnout of 214 students from 16 educational institutions. Stepping into the roles of various ministries and statutory boards, these young representatives fervently debated pressing national issues, such as digital currency regulations and emergency preparedness for future health crises, honing their analytical and oratorical skills through consensus-building.

We were privileged to have distinguished political leaders gracing the event this year. At the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Dinesh Vasu Dash, Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, and Manpower, and Mayor of South East District, inspired delegates as the guest speaker. The Closing Ceremony welcomed Speaker of Parliament Mr. Seah Kian Peng, who engaged participants in an insightful Q&A segment, alongside Guest of Honour and VJC alumnus Mr. Goh Pei Ming, Minister of State for Home Affairs, and Social and Family Development. 

With poise and intellect, these youth representatives truly set the stage for the leaders of tomorrow.
